About SGA

The Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University is the premier organization founded to both represent and advocate for the entire WKU student body. At WKU, we believe that all students--regardless of who they are or where they come from--deserve a university community that values and respects their voices and lives. Whether it is campus safety, college affordability, campus sustainability, campus inclusion, or other endeavors necessary to enhance the quality of student life, WKU SGA is committed to always finding ways to progress forward in order to make WKU the best and most welcoming university it can possibly be on behalf of all Hilltoppers.

"We, the students of Western Kentucky University, in order to form a legitimate body of students to address student needs, interests, and opinions toward all aspects of university life, promote student well-being and involvement, encourage diversity and tolerance among all groups and individuals, and to create proper channels through which student opinions, recommendations, and requests may be expressed to university administrators, do hereby ordain and establish this Constitution of the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University."

This is our commitment to the WKU student body and this is our promise to all future Hilltoppers: SGA can, and will, play a positive role in the lives of all students. If you want to be a part, please come to our weekly Student Senate meetings every Tuesday at 5:00 PM on the 2nd floor of the Downing Student Union (DSU) in the Student Senate Chambers. We hope to see you there!
