WKU Forensics Team places 2nd at AFA national tournament: The WKU Forensics Team placed second in team sweepstakes at the American Forensic Association National Individual Events Tournament championship, while WKU junior Andrea Ambam was recognized as the national champion in individual sweepstakes for personal excellence across several events.

Softball: Tops Split Wednesday Doubleheader with EKU: WKU Softball split Wednesday's doubleheader against Eastern Kentucky from The Hill, taking game one 6-3 before falling 8-4 in the second tilt. The Hilltoppers climbed to 24-15 overall with the split results while EKU moved to 23-14. Next: WKU at UAB on Friday.
Men’s basketball: Hilltoppers to Play in Inaugural Myrtle Beach Invitational: WKU Hilltopper Basketball will participate in the first-ever Myrtle Beach Invitational during the upcoming 2018-19 season, ESPN Events announced Wednesday. WKU will be joined in the eight-team event by West Virginia, Wake Forest, Valparaiso, UCF, Saint Joseph's, Cal State Fullerton and a team still to be announced. Teams will play three games in the event on November 15, 16 and 18 at the HTC Center on the campus of Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C.
Football: Marcus Ward Named to 2018 NFF Hampshire Honor Society: Former WKU Football student-athlete Marcus Ward has earned his place as a 2018 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society member, it was announced Wednesday morning. Ward achieved at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 during his entire Hilltopper career.
Track & Field: Hilltopper Morris Narrowly Misses Commonwealth Games Finals: WKU senior Julius Morris ran in the semifinals of the 200-meter dash at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games early Wednesday morning and just missed the cutoff to advance to the finals. Montserrat native Morris competed in the third heat of the 200-meter semifinals, running a 10.69. The final runner to make the cut clocked a time of 20.66, leaving Morris out of the finals by three one hundredths of a second in 10th.
Weather station at Northern Elementary will benefit students, residents & farmers: Pulaski County is about to be put on the map — the weather map that is. The county is on track to have a Mesonet weather station installed at Northern Elementary School. This weather station is not only a chance for students and residents to access local weather data, but it will also benefit local farmers, explained Chris Pierce with the Pulaski County Extension Board.
