What can WKU Libraries Do for You?

  • We welcome faculty requests for books and journals for the Libraries' collections...just send requests to the Library Faculty for your department. For more information contact Jack Montgomery at jack.montgomery@wku.edu.
  • Faculty members enjoy a loan period on books of one semester.

These and the items listed below are only a few of the many valuable services the WKU Libraries provides to our faculty colleagues. Remember, the Libraries is the place Where Knowledge Unfolds!



Customize Individual Services

We have Library Faculty working with each department on campus, helping faculty members and students find materials and learn to use the library. These subject specialists will customize their services to your individual needs—it's like having your own Personal Librarian!


Provide Individualized Instruction

Our Faculty provide classroom and individualized instruction covering a wide range of library skills and research strategies. We will also create customized instruction sessions and tutorials for specific classes or projects.


Send Books, Articles and Other Library Materials to Your Office

To have library research materials delivered to your office, simply fill out the appropriate online request form for Books, copies of Journal Articles, and for Other Media. Articles and other documents will normally be scanned and send electronically, while books will be forwarded through Campus Mail.


Provide Access to Course Reserve Materials for Your Students

You can leave class materials on Course Reserve in the Cravens Visual and Performing Arts Library (VPAL), or use our E-Reserve system to put them online in Blackboard.


Get Books and Articles from Other Libraries through Interlibrary Loan

Log in to our Interlibrary Loan System to request books or articles not currently available in the WKU Libraries collections. For more information, visit the Interlibrary Loan page.


Archive Your Research and Creative Output through TopSCHOLAR

Document Archive Line Drawing

TopSCHOLAR is an open-access database for archiving and sharing data and publications. Hundreds of faculty, staff and students are showcasing their accomplishments by contributing electronic files for uploading. You can also showcase your research and build your own personal website in Selected Works. For more information contact Deana Groves at deana.groves@wku.edu.
