Student Organizations

The Mahurin Honors College has many opportunities for students to get involved in the Honors community.

Honors Club

The Honors Club organizes social events and community service opportunities for Honors students. Honors Club advisors, selected through an application process each spring, help to plan the events for their fellow Honors students.

HonorsToppers is a select group of Honors students dedicated to serving and promoting the Mahurin Honors College at WKU. HonorsToppers build excellence within the Honors community by recruiting future Mahurin Honors College students, leading campus tours and assisting at Honors functions and events. New HonorsToppers are selected every spring through an application process.

Honors Development Board Student Representatives

The Honors Development Board, an advisory body for the Mahurin Honors College, reserves a seat for an elected student representative from each class. Students may contact Dr. Keller at the beginning of the fall semester for information on joining.

Areté is the Mahurin Honors College's student produced newsletter. This publication was the 2007 winner of the National Collegiate Honors Council Best Student Newsletter competition and placed 3rd in the same competition in 2009. Writers, photographers and designers are all needed to form the Areté staff each year.
