Robbin Morrison Taylor was named Vice President of Public Affairs for Western Kentucky University in May 2008. She is responsible for oversight and management of WKU Public Broadcasting, Media Relations, Marketing and Communications, Government and Community Relations, and WKU’s events offices. Taylor came to WKU in 2000 as Assistant Director for Corporate Relations in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. In 2001, she was named Director of Government Relations and later promoted to Assistant to the President for Government Relations.
Taylor served as South Central Kentucky Field Representative for U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell from 1991 to 2000 where she worked closely with state and local officials in Kentucky’s first and second Congressional districts. Prior to that she worked as an Assistant Account Executive for Lovell Communications in Nashville, Tenn.
Taylor earned a Masters in Public Administration from WKU in 1997 and a Bachelor of Arts in government and public relations from WKU in 1990. She is a 1997 graduate of Leadership Bowling Green and a recipient of Leadership Bowling Green’s Bart Hagerman Award. She is also a 2007 graduate of Leadership Kentucky. In 2015 Taylor received the Athena Award from the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves as Chair of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Taylor is married to Joe W. Taylor II, has a son, Will, and is a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Bowling Green.
