Gordon Johnson was named the Vice President for Information Technology in July 2014. He is the senior executive responsible for the leadership and strategic oversight of WKU’s Information Technology Division comprised of five departments and approximately 125 full-time employees. Gordon has over 35 years of experience developing, implementing and managing enterprise IT systems and services. After graduating from Harvard University in 1978, he worked early in his career for a number of IT software and services firms in the northeast including Electronic Data Systems under Ross Perot and Boston Investment Systems. He has worked in WKU’s Division of Information Technology for the last 27 years and during that time he held a number of different technical and managerial positions. For the last 15 years, he has been the Director of IT’s largest department, Administrative Systems and Applications, and has had responsibility for the leadership, management, and support of WKU’s mission critical enterprise systems and its two data centers. Gordon has had leadership involvement in the deployment of most of the major applications and IT services available to the WKU community today.
